Lady Norse Split At Home VS NOC Tonkawa

MIAMI — Northeastern A&M split an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference double-header with Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa here Tuesday, March 30.

The Lady Norse dropped the opener 12-7 but bounced back with a 16-2 romp in the nightcap.

That win was the 1,100th for coach Eric Iverson.

NEO now is idle until Tuesday, April 6, when it hosts Connors State College.

NOC-Tonkawa 12, NEO 7

A three-run rally by the Lady Mavs in the top of the seventh inning was a killer for NEO, 17-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

The Lady Norse had pulled to within four in the bottom of the sixth on a bases-loaded double by Mary Collins. Paxton Donaldson and Hannah Burnett scored, but Rebecca Bell was cut down at the plate.

In the NEO half of the seventh, Britton Clark drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center and then Cheyenne Petty doubled home the seventh run.

Donaldson walked, but Burnett was cut down on a comebacker to pitcher Lynsee Alley, ending the game.

Karis Clark had a double and single and Donaldson finished with a pair of singles.

Hannah Burnett, Bell, Mary Collins and Lauren Lauvetz all had singles.

NEO 16, NOC-Tonkawa 2

An eight-run second inning helped send the Lady Norse on their way to their 13th win at the field named for their Hall of Fame coach this season.

NEO came back with two runs in the third and got a final five in the third.

Northern got both of its runs in the fifth.

NEO collected 17 hits in the game, including a triple, two doubles and a single by Miami sophomore Rebecca Bell.
