Miami, Oklahoma - Friday, February 7, 2020 –To honor the life and legacy of Angie Douthit, the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Basketball program will host #Alwaysbekind Night on Thursday, Feb. 13, in the NEO Gymnasium. Admission to the games are donation only and funds will be placed in the "Angie Douthit Always Be Kind Student Emergency Fund."
 
Douthit passed away on Dec. 9, 2019, after a two-year battle with brain cancer. During her treatment, she inspired the nation with her relentless positivity on social media, often sharing the biblical passages and family experiences that motivated her daily life. Author of "God's Plan" and "Life with Mike," she was beloved member of the community.
 
To honor the Douthit family and establish the fund, the NEO Presidential Partners will donate $2,000. NEO President Dr. Kyle J. Stafford will present a plaque to the Douthit family between the Lady Norse and Golden Norse games.
 
NEO will face off against Connors State College, with the Lady Norse tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the Golden Norse starting at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the event, contact Lisa Severe at lsevere@neo.edu.
