Last Second Goal Lifts Norsemen Soccer Over NOC

The Norsemen Soccer team traveled to Tonkawa, OK on Sunday for their fifth conference game of the season to face Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa. A windy day with gusting winds led to a scoreless first half. Under a minute into the second half NOC scored on a long range shot. Only minutes later the Norsemen answered back with a
Dylan Galhardo corner kick that was scored by
Alex Frances to tie the game at 1-1. As the game went on NEO continued to create quality attacking chances. In the last minute of the game
Andre Rui high pressed a NOC defender into making a poor pass towards goal. This pass was intercepted by
Harry Sargent and put past the NOC keeper putting NEO up 2-1 with four seconds left in the game.
The game marked the Norsemen's first win on the road at NOC since 2011 and the first time ever in program history for Norsemen soccer to sweep Rose State, Eastern Oklahoma College, and Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa on the road. Next the Norsemen face a tough Crowder College (8-2 on the season) on the road at 4:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2019. NEO Men's Soccer now has a 6-4 record on the season and is currently in 2
nd place in the regular season standings for Region II.
