Norsemen Go 2-1 At Three Rivers Thanksgiving Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 The NEO Golden Norsemen Men's Basketball team (8-5 Overall and 2-0 OCAC) traveled this past Holiday weekend to Poplar Bluff, MO to participate in the Three Rivers Thanksgiving Classic.  The Norse went 2-1 in the 3 day annual event.  They opened on Thanksgiving day with a 72-66 loss to Southern Arkansas University Tech then followed up with a 91-54 win Friday over Roane State.  They closed out their weekend Saturday with a 66-52 win over host Three Rivers.

Head Coach Jeremy Jackson said "We grew this weekend and especially grew in these past 2 weeks.  We have a very young team that is learning and growing into being college athletes.  The light bulbs are starting to truly come on and that's a great thing for us and our progression this season.  We had guys step up big against Tonkawa and Seminole in conference games like James Franklin Jr., a true freshman, who has a great gift of being able to soar the ball at an extremely high level. We also had Alvin Cannady III play at an all-league level in Poplar Bluff over the weekend against Three Rivers, finishing with a double-double."

The Golden Norse host MSSU JV Thursday at 7:30pm in their final game before the New Year.
