Taking charge of the game early, NEO men's soccer would use the momentum from two Draye Richey goals to gain a win over Eastern Oklahoma State College Wednesday night. Richey's first goal came just 3 minutes into the game off of a cross from Victor Arias. Seven minutes later Richey would find the net again, this time off a ball played in by Pedro Da Silva. 4 minutes later just 15 minutes into the match Jack Holmes would collect a long corner kick and find Victor Arias waiting in the box. On one touch Arias would put the ball away to put the Norsemen up 3-0. EOC would answer with a goal of their own with 25 minutes remaining in the first half.
In the second half NEO wouldn't waist anytime adding to their lead as Cameron Eaves converted the first shot of the half to put NEO up 4-1 with 44 minutes remaining in the match. 10 minutes later freshman Caden Stumpff managed to score his first goal as a Norseman to make the score 5-1 NEO. That score would hold for the remaining 34 minutes.
The win is the first for the Norsemen in Conference play making their conference record 1 and 2 with 5 games remaining. NEO will play again at home in a non-conference match on Sunday September 16^th against St. Charles Community College.
