The Lady Norse end the season with a 3-2 come back win over MSC!
An intense 20 minutes allowed the Lady Norse to come from behind and overtake MSC 3-2 in regulation!
Roughly 70 minutes into the game, MSC started the scoring frenzy.
With a little over 9 minutes left in the game Sophomore
Fortune Kede finished a shot off of a throw in by freshman
Molly Knox. A minute later Knox scored the 3rd goal of the game bringing the Lady Norse up 2-1.
MSC scored another goal tying the game for a second time with 2 minutes left in regulation.
10 seconds after the restart of the game Kede scored the 3rd and final goal off a pass from Knox.
"I'm pleased with the way the team played as a whole. We knew going into today this was probably our last game for the year. All I asked is that they played hard and showed good character and effort. We didn't drive 4hrs to sit back and not play." Said head coach
Lisa Bell. "They made me proud to be a Norseman today! Not only did we show up and win but we did it with a completely different lineup than we've played with all season!"
Due to a series of injuries the past couple of weeks the Lady Norse finished the season with Sophomore defensive mid,
Paige Miller, in goal. In addition to that big change they also had various other players in different positions to fill in gaps.
"I'm proud of Paige. Several games back when both keepers had gone down in the same game I was looking around at what I was going to do to finish the game. I made eye contact with Paige and she simply said 'I'll do it, Coach.' I never questioned if she would!" said Bell. "From that day on she became our backup. I'm proud of her! She played well! I was really hoping she'd get a shut out today! I'm still pleased with what she did for us even without a shutout!"
Unless something unforeseen happens this will be the last game for the Lady Norse for the 2018 season.
