MIAMI — Returning to the pitch after a 10-day break, the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Lady Norse started play Sunday in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 1-0 victory in double overtime against Seminole State College on Red Robertson Field.
After battling the Belles (2-2-1 and 0-2) to a scoreless tie through regulation play and one overtime period, the Lady Norse received an unassisted goal from freshman midfielder
Ashya Butler at the 110-minute mark to conclude the match.
During the four periods, the Lady Norse took 19 total shots on goal that included 10 shots in the first half.
NEO goalie Daritsta Herrera recorded 11 total saves during the 110 minutes.
The Lady Norse (3-1 and 1-0) start a three-match road trip with a 2 p.m. non-conference game Saturday against Neosho County Community College (0-6) in Chanute, Kansas.
