MIAMI — Strong pitching carried the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen to a 6-1 and 11-1 double=header sweep Thursday over Rose State College at Homa Thomas Field.
The two teams conclude the four-game regular season Saturday with a 3 p.m. twinbill at Raiders Field in Midwest City.

Roger Ward's Golden Norsemen are 6-3 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and 29-10 on the season. The Raiders are winless in nine OCAC games and 12-30 overall.
Entering the final two weeks of the regular season next Thursday, the Norsemen travel to Warner for a 3 p.m. double-header against No. 14 ranked Connors State College. The Cowboys lead the conference with a 7-3 record and are 36-7 on the year.
A leadoff double by
Jason Popovich started a rally by the Golden Norse in the bottom of the first inning of the first game against Rose State.
Keaton Presley grounded into a fielder's choice as Popovich went to third.
Tristen Gagan followed with an RBI single scoring Popovich.
With one out in the bottom of the third inning, Gagan singled to start a three-run outburst by the Norsemen.
Luke Preaus doubled with Gagan stopping at third.
Chase Burgess lined a single to center scoring both Gagan and Preaus.
Houston Glad singled as Burgess advanced from first to third.
Brett D'Amico grounded into a fielder's choice scoring Burgess for a 4-0 NEO lead.
Joe Fernando started a two-run fourth inning for the Golden Norsemen with a bunt single. Fernando stole second and went to third on a fielder's choice by Popovich. Presley singled to left scoring Fernando. After Gagan walked, Presley stole third. Preaus hit a sacrifice fly scoring Presley for a 6-0 cushion.
Rose State reached NEO starter Claudio Ortiz (4-1) for a run in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, Josh Drennan was hit by a pitch. After a wild pitch, Drennan scored on a single by Taggert Hammer-Sparks.
Ortiz allowed only one run on two hits in a complete seven-inning effort. He struck out five and walked none.
Two doubles by Preaus along with two singles each by Gagan and Burgess highlighted NEO's 10-hit attack.
A five-run eighth inning by the Golden Norsemen ended the second game because of the eight-run rule.
Bradley Kinsey (8-0) and
Parker McDonald combined to throw a five-hitter for NEO. Kinsey allowed one run on five hits in six innings. He struck out three and walked one. McDonald threw two hitless innings with two strike outs and one walk in relief.
Rose State's lone run came in the top of the second inning off Kinsey. One-out singles by Drennan and Hammer-Sparks ignited the rally. Drennan scored on a fielding error by Fernando at shortstop for a 1-0 Raiders lead.
A walk to Popovich after a 10-pitch at-bat started a six-run explosion by the Golden Norse in the bottom of the third inning. Presley followed with his 10
th home run of the season. Gagan was hit by a pitch and
Dion Williams singled.
After
Clay Richards struck out, Burgess singled scoring Gagan. Glad reached on a fielder's choice with Burgess being tagged out at second as Williams came around to score on an errant throw home from Ryan White at second base.
Colby LeBlanc singled scoring Glad for a 6-1 Norse cushion.
Fernando doubled to start NEO's five-run eighth inning. After Popovich walked, Gagan singled scoring Fernando. Pinch hitter D'Amico walked filling the bases. Preaus walked scoring Popovich. Burgess singled scoring both Gagan and D'Amico. Glad singled scoring Preaus ending the game.
With two doubles and a single, Fernando and Burgess collected three hits each to pace the 10-hit Golden Norse offense.
