Box Score Norse baseball open the season with a 11-1 victory over the pre-season ranked #4 Crowder college today in Neosho, MO. Your Norse were led by sophomore lefty Dalton Moats who pitched 5 shutout innings striking out 6 and walking 2 to notch his first win of the season.  Sophomore Dany Giroux and Clayton Whelcel pitched 2 innings each giving up 1 unearned run to help secure the victory.  Led me sophomore short stop Brad Antchak the Norse errupted for 11 runs on 10 hits, 5 for extra bases.  Antchak hit a towering homerun in the 5th for a three RBI day.  Sophmore second baseman Tyler Gunter had 2 doubles with 2 RBI's and Milton Miranda added 2 RBI's with a double to the tally.  "It was is not always expected to score early in the year when you have not seen much pitching", according to Head Coach Roger Ward.  "The guys really had a great day in many aspects of the game.  We had disciplined at bats, we had timely hitting and defense and we played with a great deal of confience and expection for such a young club.  It was definitly a great day for us and a day we can build on."

The Norse travel to Texas next to face the Panola Ponies in Carthage, TX.  The series begins on Friday night at 6pm for a single game followed by a double dip on saturday beginnig at 4 and finishing with a single on Sunday at 1.
