NEO Falls At Home Against Murray State

Box Score Expending too much energy to erase a 10-point deficit early in the second half, Northeastern A&M's Golden Norsemen suffered a 67-59 loss Monday night, to Murray State College in the NEO Fieldhouse.



While dropping their third straight Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference game, coach Dustin Grover's Norsemen are 7-7 in the league and 14-12 overall. The Norse will have a seven-day break before traveling to Poteau, Monday, Feb. 18, for a conference battle with Carl Albert State College.
Coach randy Rutherford's Aggies are 10-3 in the OCAC and 14-9 overall after completing the two-game sweep over the Golden Norse for the first time since the series began. 
Paced by a 15-point performance by sophomore Gary Inglett in the first half, the Aggies carried a 36-29 cushion to the locker room at intermission.
Four points each by Jeff Newberry and Luther Thomas ignited a 15 to seven run by NEO to create a 44-43 Norse lead with 11:41 left in the game.
A 3-pointer by Dvonte Davis along with a trey by Quincell Rahmings boosted the Aggies to a 55-47 margin with 7:59 showing on the clock.
Newberry led the Norse with 15 points, Thomas 12, Nkosi Ali nine, Ja'mill Powell nine, Derrick Frye five, TJ Williams four, Javaune Dawson three and Frederico Santos two points.
Along with 25 points by Inglett, the Aggies received 16 from Dvonte Davis, Dusan Pantovic seven, Tim Smallwood four, Trai Jordan four, Rahmings three, Clement Bonardo three, Quentin Davis two, D'angelo Clark two and Dante Wortson one.
