Norse Shoot Down Central Methodist

Box Score FAYETTE, Mo. – Phenomenal shooting from the field carried the Northeastern A&M Golden Norsemen to a 111-62 rout Wednesday night over the junior varsity from Central Methodist University.


With the victory coach Dustin Grover's Golden Norse return home at 4-4 on the season while the Central Methodist Eagles are 2-3 on the year.
NEO begins play in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference on Monday by hosting Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in the NEO Fieldhouse. Coach Jim Rowland's Lady Norse start defense of the Region II title with a perfect 4-0 record at 6 p.m. against the Lady Mavericks. The Norsemen battle the Mavericks at 8 p.m.
Freshmen guards Nkosi Ali and Ja'mill Powell each tallied 22 points each as the Golden Norse raced out to a 58-31 lead at half-time. For the entire game Ali canned 11 of 15 from the field while Powell contributed six of eight from 3-point range.
Sophomore Gerard Isla added 12 total points and seven rebounds as the Norsemen dominated every phase of the game.
Freshman guard Caleb Shaw was the only Eagle to score in double figures with 10 points.
NEO made the cords sizzle by sinking 43 of 68 for 63 percent from the field. The Norsemen were even deadlier from 3-point range by hitting 11 of 15 for 73 percent.
