Coming to NEO as a graduate of Kellyville High School, Jack Begley played both center and guard position for coach “Red” Robertson in 1953.  Jack was known as a strong rebounder and team player.  Upon his graduation from NEO and an enlistment in the U.S. Army, Begley went on to earn All-Conference honors at Panhandle State University.  After graduating from OPSU, Begley began his coaching career and coached at several high schools including Texhoma and Clinton where he won two state basketball championships. He returned to OPSU where he served the next 20 years as athletic director and head basketball and golf coach.  In 1988, Begley was elected to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives and was a legislator for 14 years.
