Golden Norse receiver Donne Pitman, a member of the 1959 Championship team received recognition as an NJCAA All-American in 1960. Pitman also received the Carl Rigney Student Athlete Award for his outstanding traits in scholarship, leadership and athletic ability. Pitman was recruited by the University of Colorado and played for the Buffalos for two years. In 1963 he began a career with the Chapman organization while completing his graduate studies at Tulsa University. Pitman has continued his relationship with the Chapman Organization to date whereby he has had many years experience in oil and gas exploration and operations, banking real estate, and equity management. Pitman’s outstanding leadership ability has served him well in athletics and in life.
