The 1990 NEO Lady Norse Softball team under the leadership of 2
nd year head coach Woody Morrow defeated Eastern Oklahoma State College 8-1 to capture the Region 2 Championship and advance to the District Tournament. Hosting the district tournament, NEO defeated Ranger College 4-3 in game 3 of the best two of three format, advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas for the first time in program history. The Lady Norse got off to a slow start losing the opening game of Nationals, before running of 7 straight wins to advance to the National Championship game. NEO would finish the season as National Runner-Up with an overall record of 50-7.
